Diocesan Lent Appeal & the YMCA Sleep Easy
This year's Diocesan Lent Appeal has raised awareness of homelessness and the work of the YMCA Downslink, especially with Anglican churches, said Lucy McGrath, YMCA's Lead chaplain based in Hove. Lucy was full of praise for the way in which the diocese has responded to its biggest annual fundraising event - the Sleep Easy 2017 which took place on Friday 24 March in the YMCA car park in Hove. Bishop Martin took part with 50 others in a car park in Hove - hear what he had to say here

 

 

 

Rise in those seeking vocations 
Eighty-two people have chosen to discern a vocation in the Diocese of Chichester. This encouraging number is up from 45 in October 2016. Is God calling you? Get in touch with

Bishop Martin's Lent Reflections 
The story of Lazarus is the focus of bishop Martin's reflection for the Lent readings for the 5th Sunday of Lent here with question and comment about how Jesus is depicted in Caravaggio's The Raising of Lazarus.

Recording of Lecture available to download soon
The first of four lectures to be held across Sussex to mark the Diocese of Chichester's Year of the Bible took place on Thursday (23 March. 10:30 am) at Holy Cross Church, Woodingdean. The Revd Professor David Wilkinson, Principal of St John's College, Durham looked at the issue of "The Bible and Science". The lecture recording will be available to download soon.

Chichester Diocesan Holy Land Pilgrimage 
2018 is designated as a YEAR OF PRAYER and pilgrimage will play a full part throughout the year.  The Bishop of Chichester will lead pilgrims to journey and pray with him in some of the holiest places associated with the emergence of the Christian faith. 25 Oct-1 Nov 2018. How to book  here 

Christian Aid Week - Diamond Awards 
The diamond anniversary of Christian Aid Week will be marked by a special event to celebrate the amazing people who make it happen. Awards will be made to Christian Aid Diamonds on Tuesday 16thMay at St. Mary's Church, Kemptown, Brighton from 7.00pm

Year of the Bible School Art Competition
We've had some excellent work arriving at Church House Hove for the Bible-themed Art Competition.  Seventy schools are taking part and it is very exciting to see the spectacular efforts being made. The deadline for schools is 31st March.

Pledge2Pray
Thy Kingdom Come', we should expect that God will use us to help answer our prayer.  He will give us opportunities to witness to Him with the people we have been praying for.  The Archbishop of Canterbury has launched a new training session aimed at helping Christians to share their faith. More here
